I. Introduction to the College
The College of Life Science and Technology was established at the end of 2000, which was formed by the merger of Xi Jiaotong University, Xi Medical University and Shaanxi University of Finance and Economics. The college has two first-class disciplines: biomedical engineering and biology. Biomedical engineering discipline was founded in 1978, which is one of the earliest universities in China. 1988 was rated as a national key discipline. Biochemistry and molecular biology was founded in 1996. In 2000, it was approved as a doctoral program in two disciplines, and in 2003, it was approved as a doctoral program in biophysics in two disciplines, 201/biology first-class discipline.
Second, the teaching staff.
At present, the college has faculty members 15 1 person, including 37 professors and 44 associate professors, and 73% of them are young teachers under 45. There are 2 young and middle-aged experts who have made outstanding contributions at the national level, the first batch of experts selected for the "Hundred Million Talents Project" 1 person, the winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars 1 person, 7 national young talents, 9 provincial and ministerial-level young talents, 2 leading scholars, and a highly cited scholar in Elsevier China 1 person.
Third, scientific research results.
In the past five years, the college has made outstanding achievements in education and teaching reform. He has completed 36 teaching research projects, published more than 20 teaching research papers and published 14 textbooks. Students won 138 prizes in various competitions (including 20 international prizes and 33 national prizes), and won the gold medal in the first international genetic engineering machine competition (iGEM) of our school, the self-improvement star of China university students and other awards and honorary titles. In recent five years, more than 600 papers included in SCI have been published (the first completed unit), and 85 patents have been granted/kloc-0.
