As of July, 2022, the school has two campuses, Haidian and Changping, with eight disciplines of science, engineering, literature, law, economics, management, teaching and arts, 17 teaching units, 5 1 undergraduate majors, and1first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degrees. Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications can be traced back to 1955, which was founded on the basis of telephone and telegraph communication and radio communication and broadcasting of Tianjin University and telephone and telegraph communication of Chongqing University. From 1959 to 1960, Beijing Institute of Telecommunications and its affiliated Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and University of Posts and Telecommunications were merged into Beijing Institute of Posts and Telecommunications. 1993 changed its name to Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
Scientific research achievements of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications:
During the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications received 4 19 grants from the National Natural Science Foundation, including 2 major national research instruments and equipment development projects, with a total grant of10.57 times and a grant amount of 3.10 times that of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. The 973 Plan was approved for four consecutive years, and three major projects, seven leading theme projects and 62 major national science and technology projects (six leading projects) under the 863 Plan were approved.
