The predecessors of Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences were Chongqing Normal College and Yuzhou Institute of Education.
Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences, located in Chongqing City, is a full-time general undergraduate institution sponsored by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and one of the first national pilot universities for the reform of the education and training plan for outstanding agricultural and forestry talents. In April 2005, the school was renamed Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences. On April 28, Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences was officially established.
In June 2020, the School of Rural Revitalization of Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences was established. On July 2, he joined the Art Alliance of Colleges and Universities in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.
In November 2021, the school was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council as a master's degree authorization unit. Professional master's degree programs: Master of Mechanical Engineering, Master of Materials and Chemical Engineering, Master of Agriculture.
