Analysis on Influencing Factors of Technological Innovation Performance of Industrial Enterprises

Many studies pay attention to the influence of technological innovation on the improvement of enterprise performance, and think that different technological innovation strategies will have different performance consequences, while ignoring the reaction of enterprise performance to the choice of technological innovation strategies. The previous analysis has pointed out that performance dilemma is one of the driving factors of organizational change. Improving production efficiency, reducing product cost or re-occupying the market with new products through technological innovation is a common way for enterprises to change their performance difficulties. Kaman, a behavioral economist and winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics in 20001year, analyzed this problem from the perspective of managers' decision-making behavior, and pointed out that poor performance of enterprises will increase managers' tolerance for risks, because managers often regard poor performance as a situation that is unfavorable to their own position and are willing to take risks to change this unfavorable situation. Ramrattan also pointed out that when the market demand drops, organizations often improve product quality or introduce new products to the market through research and development to gain greater market share.

The strategic motivation of performance-oriented innovation in the predicament is to improve the performance level of enterprises and reverse the unfavorable situation. Therefore, the rapid return on investment is often pursued, and the investment effect of technological innovation is required to be quickly reflected in the improvement of enterprise performance. At the same time, when the performance of the enterprise is poor, the supervision of various stakeholders (shareholders, creditors, etc.) is strengthened. ) will increase, and it is difficult for managers to obtain long-term investment space and patience. Therefore, in the performance-oriented dilemma innovation, managers prefer to adopt the innovation mode of technology introduction, because compared with independent research and development, technology introduction has the characteristics of short investment cycle and low uncertain risk. The introduction of mature technological achievements can be commercialized quickly, improve the product quality of enterprises or introduce new products to the market, thus improving the performance dilemma of enterprises. Therefore, according to the above analysis, we can draw the following propositions.

P 1a: poor enterprise performance will lead to an increase in investment intensity of technological innovation.

P 1b: In the process of performance-oriented innovation, enterprises are more inclined to adopt the innovation mode of technology introduction.
