When you enter a civil engineering pit, you must conduct research to see how you plan for the future.

Starting from graduation does not mean that your exam career will end. There are many exams you will face in the future, and they will be more difficult. It depends on whether you choose. A career in the workplace is much longer than a career in education, and the competition is more intense. Therefore, the tasks of improving abilities, learning knowledge, and obtaining certificates during the workplace are more and more difficult. From the moment you graduate and walk out of school, you must be mentally prepared to face professional life. I am an undergraduate majoring in civil engineering who graduated in 2006. Therefore, the processes described in this article are analyzed and discussed based on my own situation.

There may be one to two years after graduation, which is an exam vacuum period, because there are not enough working years and qualifications to take most exams and be well prepared. If you read this article at that time and make plans for your future verification, you will be lucky. Two years after graduation, many exam opportunities will come one after another. It depends on whether you are willing to take the challenge! This article summarizes the work experience of relevant personnel, refers to my academic qualifications, and summarizes a set of engineering professional certification process for your reference.

1. When you graduate, find a good employer

A good employer can provide you with a good platform and environment for personal development. If you find someone who does not match your major, Enterprise, that is very detrimental to the professional development of this major. Of course, you can achieve upgrading and transformation in the years to come through

learning ability building + verification. Obtaining a vocational qualification certificate is very helpful for your job.

2. One year after graduation, the professional title will be regularized and the first-level structural engineer basic examination will be taken.

Pay attention to whether your file will be regularized and you will officially become an assistant engineer. Many people don't pay much attention to files as soon as they graduate. In fact, the conversion of student status files into labor files is operated by the talent center that keeps your files one year after graduation. You must pay attention to this matter. I am a victim of file circulation. I was very distressed by the file circulation problem and spent a lot of energy to solve the problem. At present, in Baidu Q&A, it is also found that many netizens have file problems, and in their spare time, they also provide them with solutions and suggestions. One year after graduation, you can take the basic theory examination for registered first-level structural engineers. This comprehensive examination combines 17 subjects such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanics, materials, and engineering economics during college. If you fail the first time, you will continue to take the test in subsequent years.

3. Two years after graduation, you can obtain the second-level certificate strategy

You can apply for the second-level construction engineer and second-level structural engineer exams. Note that in some years, the second-level construction engineer examination is held in June, and the length of service is calculated as two years from the graduation date recorded on the diploma to June 30 of that year, before registration for the examination is allowed. I graduated from Hefei University of Technology, and the graduation certificate was issued on July 10, 2006. When I applied for the second-level construction engineer in 2008, my working experience was 10 days short, and I was rejected by the Shanghai on-site verification teacher. This situation has been encountered repeatedly in subsequent examinations. For example, the consulting engineer was unable to take the exam in 2012 due to a 10-day gap in graduation years, and the investment project manager was unable to take the exam in 2014 due to a 10-day gap in graduation years. The second-level construction engineer exam is easy, but the second-level structural engineer exam is more difficult. It probably takes two or three years to prepare! The registration fee for a second-level construction engineer is about 10,000 yuan/year, and the registration fee for a second-level structural engineer is about 35,000 yuan/year.

4. It takes three years after graduation to become a second-level architect and safety engineer.

A bachelor's degree in architecture can take the exam for a second-level architect in two years, while an undergraduate in a similar major takes three years. The examination for the second-level architect is more difficult than that for the first-level construction engineer, and it is very difficult to pass it in one go. Due to its relatively low cost performance, few non-architectural majors take this exam. The safety engineer exam is not very difficult and contains a lot of memorized content. The registration fee is probably 10,000-30,000.

5. Four years after graduation, first-class construction engineer, first-class structural engineer, and bidding engineer

The goal is to pass the first-class construction engineer at once. First-level structural engineers are divided into basic courses and professional courses, which basically take two years to complete. The registered income of a first-level construction engineer is about 30,000 yuan/year, and that of a first-level structural engineer is about 110,000 yuan/year. There is a course of engineering economics among the first-level construction engineers. With this foundation, you can prepare for the cost engineer exam next year.

The significance of bidding for engineers is really not that great. The exam time is very close, so there must be some trade-offs compared with First Construction. The registration fee for a first-class construction engineer is about 35,000 yuan/year, and the first-class structural engineer is about 60,000 yuan/year. The registration fee for a tenderer is unknown.

6. Five years after graduation, you can be promoted to intermediate or registered cost engineer

This year you can consider upgrading to an intermediate professional title. After four years of working as an assistant, take the English and computer exams for the professional title, find an essay, and apply for the intermediate professional title! I applied in Shanghai from other places. Shanghai stipulates that you must have a residence permit for imported talents for one year before you can apply, and the validity period shown on the secondary copy of the residence permit complies with the regulations. Of course, you can apply for the cost engineer exam this year. The cost engineer exam is much more difficult than the first-level construction engineer exam, and it takes more time, so take it calmly! There is generally no affiliation fee for intermediate professional titles. Cost engineers must be registered in the same unit as other registered certificates. The registration income is about 20,000 yuan/year.

7. Six years after graduation, investment consulting engineer, environmental impact assessment engineer

There are two courses in investment consulting engineer and management and construction engineer. Finance and economics are related to the cost engineer, so it is very easy to take the certificate after taking the first two courses. Especially when applying for the consulting engineer exam with a cost engineer qualification certificate, three exams are exempted. The registration fee for this course is not high, less than 10,000 per year. The exam for an environmental assessor is very difficult. It is not on the same level of difficulty as a first-level construction engineer or consulting engineer. It is very difficult to pass the exam. Of course, the benefits are very large. The registration fee is more than 50,000 per year.

8. Seven years after graduation, supervisory engineer

Since the intermediate professional title has been completed for three years, you can consider taking the supervisory engineer exam! However, engineering supervision and first-level construction engineers cannot be registered at the same time, and one of the two certificates must be chosen.

9. Eight years after graduation, senior engineer materials preparation, investment project manager, first-class architect, PMP

First of all, it is time to prepare for promotion to senior professional titles, mainly in some Publish some papers in regular journals. Of course, if you have invention patents or the like, you can be promoted exceptionally.

The investment project manager basically continues part of the content of the investment consulting engineer. With the previous foundation, it is not difficult to take the exam. The first-level architect is currently the most valuable among these certificates, and of course the exam is also the most difficult. There are nine courses, valid for eight years, and three of them require on-site drawing. Non-architecture majors who have no architectural design experience should not take the exam because it is too difficult. Of course, the registration fee is 100,000/year, which is quite considerable. PMP is the Project Manager in the United States. It is said to be the golden certificate after MBA and MPA. The registration fee for training and examination is more than 3,500 yuan, and there are four examination opportunities a year.

10. After ten years of graduation, you can be promoted to senior engineer

Senior engineer can only be promoted after five years of being an intermediate engineer. For ordinary people in enterprises, it takes at least ten years after graduation to become a senior engineer. If you take a 22-year-old undergraduate graduate as an example, then being promoted to the rank of senior engineer at the age of 32 is quite young and very rare.

The golden decade of real estate development in China also brought about the rise and development of the engineering construction qualification examination. If you study hard and obtain these certificates, you can really become a construction master ten years after you graduate. Of course, the author does not want everyone to work passively for the sake of research. Work and life come first, and examination is the source of strength that urges you to continue your studies. As you grow through work and self-study, you will become a compound talent who loves work and is proficient in construction technology, processes, management, economics, and law. Applying the knowledge you have learned into practice can not only bring you generous rewards, but also provide strength for social construction.
