When defending a patent, what are replacement pages and modification pages?

Patent claim modification page: this page requires to mark the modification on the original patent claim, which can be completed by using the "Modify" mode in the tool in Word or manually marking the original patent claim. After this page is submitted to the Patent Office, it is only for the examiner's reference when making changes, so it will be easier to see what changes the applicant has made.

Claim replacement page: This page is a directly printed revised new claim, which will replace the previous claim as a legal document. If the claim is modified when replying to the notice of examination opinions, the claim replacement page must be submitted, but the claim modification page may not be submitted. In addition, when the modified page of the claim is inconsistent with the replacement page, the examiner will use the replacement page of the claim as the text for further examination.
