Review procedure: When the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) receives the submitted application for trademark registration, it will arrange staff to review the application for trademark registration, which is divided into formal review and substantive review. Formally, it is to review whether the application documents are missing or complete. In essence, the examination is whether the trademark application for registration meets the relevant legal provisions in the European Union. If relevant problems are found in the review, the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) will issue a notice of rejection to the applicant, and attach the reasons for rejection, and the applicant needs to make corrections within the specified time;
3. Publicly object. If no relevant formal or substantive problems are found in the process of examining the EUIPO, the trademark will be accepted for registration in the EU. And publish an official trademark announcement for a period of three months, during which anyone in the EU can raise trademark objections;
4. Approve the trademark registration. If no one raises any objection to the trademark in the EU within the three-month announcement period or the objection reason cannot be established, then the trademark will be officially registered in the EU. Trademark applicants can receive the EU trademark registration certificate after paying the subsequent registration fee.
