R&D

The original musket was designed by Fidler, three brothers of German Mao Se Arsenal. They were surprised by the short recoil principle of Bochat C93 automatic pistol and took advantage of their spare time at work. The muzzle velocity of Mauser C96 reached 425m/s, which was close to the level of ordinary rifles at that time.

Later, the owner of Mao Se Arsenal thought that this gun had extremely high market and military value, so he applied for a patent. Although the principle of short recoil improves the speed of the bullet, it also makes a lot of gunpowder deflagrate at the muzzle, and the muzzle jump problem is serious. Secondly, its full gun energy matching is unreasonable, the torque is low, and it is cumbersome and laborious to use.

From World War I to before World War II

Mauser C96 produced by Mao Se Arsenal always wanted to equip the Germans with this gun. During World War I, the Germans ordered 150000 C96 guns with 9 mm caliber, and Mao Se Arsenal delivered 135000 guns to the Germans before the end of the war, but this was only the only record that the Germans were officially equipped with this gun.

After World War I, pistols as defensive weapons were not included in the arms embargo against China, so Mauser C96, which was despised by most Europeans, was exported to China in large quantities. As one of the few choices, the durable Mauser C96 has become the backbone of many armies in China.

In the second world war

Interestingly, the soldiers in China used the flat shooting action, which simplified the problem of jumping gun and used it for shooting. In War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's film Guerrilla in the Plain, Li Xiangyang carried two Mauser c96 on his back, one for precise shooting and the other for waist leveling sight. In guerrilla warfare where heavy weapons are seriously lacking, this kind of gun has become a sharp weapon for anti-Japanese guerrillas to kill the enemy.

Mao Se * * * Company has produced more than 10,000 pieces of Mauser C96 1 10,000 from its establishment to the end of production, 70% of which are sold to China, and the imitation quantity in China is several times. Mauser C96 was a great success in China. After World War II, most single-handed pistols were replaced by safer linked pistols, and Mauser C96 also withdrew from the historical stage.
