What is the patent invalid oral hearing?

In the procedure of invalidation, the parties may make a request for oral hearing to the Patent Reexamination Board and explain the reasons. Requests should be made in writing. The parties may request an oral hearing for the following reasons:

(1) One party requests face-to-face cross-examination and debate with the other party;

(2) It is necessary to explain the facts to the collegial panel;

(3) Need physical demonstration;

(4) It is necessary to invite witnesses who have already testified to testify. If the parties request an oral hearing in writing for the above reasons, under normal circumstances, the collegial panel shall agree to the oral hearing.
