Graduated from Wuhan Iron and Steel Institute with a bachelor's degree. In 1995, he entered Huazhong University of Science and Technology (now Huazhong University of Science and Technology) to study applied mathematics. He received a master's degree in science in 1997 and went to Germany in 1998. Research visit to the University of Aachen.
