A year later, Talbot improved his photography method. He used hyponic solution instead of salt water as the fixing agent, changed the silver chloride to silver iodide, and also added Developer. In this way, the exposure time is shortened and the image is stronger.
In 1841, Talbot's improved negative-positive image process was patented in the UK and named "Caro (meaning beautiful in Greek) photography". The following year he received a Royal Academy Award for this invention.
