After years of development, Sichuan Academy of Environmental Sciences has a strong innovation and development strength in the fields of ecological environmental protection research, environmental planning and assessment, environmental economic policy research and environmental engineering technology. In recent years, it has undertaken dozens of national and provincial scientific research projects. These include the 11th Five-Year Plan for Environmental Protection in Sichuan Province, the 12th Five-Year Plan for Environmental Protection in Sichuan Province, the Ecological Function Zoning in Sichuan Province, the Outline for the Construction of Ecological Province in Sichuan Province, the Regional Ecological Construction and Environmental Protection Plan for the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in Sichuan Province (211-23) and the implementation plan for the 12th Five-Year Plan for Comprehensive Prevention and Control of Heavy Metal Pollution in Sichuan Province in 211. A number of major studies have been carried out, such as Countermeasures for Total Emission Reduction of Major Pollutants in Sichuan Province in the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, Special Plan for Water Pollution Prevention and Control in the Twelfth Five-Year Plan, Special Plan for Air Pollution Prevention and Control in the Twelfth Five-Year Plan, and Pollution Prevention and Control Plan for Persistent Organic Pollutants. After the Wenchuan earthquake, providing technical advice, releasing environmental safety information, and formulating emergency plans and drinking water safety guarantee plans played an important role in environmental emergency handling and risk assessment of secondary environmental pollution. Sichuan Academy of Environmental Sciences has also undertaken the strategic planning environmental impact assessment of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone and other major regions, successfully completed the environmental impact assessment of almost all major industrial development plans in Sichuan Province, such as petrochemical and downstream industries, comprehensive utilization of natural gas, photovoltaic industry, electronic information industry, post-disaster reconstruction project of Dongqi Hanwang Base, FAW-Volkswagen 35, car project and FAW-Volkswagen Chengdu Branch Phase III expansion project, and successfully compiled more than 8% of the city planning environmental impact assessment of the whole province.
There are six key laboratories and engineering technology centers under construction in Sichuan Academy of Environmental Sciences, namely: Sichuan Key Laboratory for Ecological Function Protection Benefit Evaluation, Sichuan Key Laboratory for Environmental Protection of Atmospheric Compound Pollution, Sichuan Key Laboratory for Environmental Protection of Heavy Metal Pollution Prevention, Sichuan Key Laboratory for Environmental Protection of Mobile Source Pollution, Sichuan Engineering Technology Center for Water Pollution Prevention (key industrial wastewater prevention) and solid waste treatment engineering technology center. Three field observation and research bases have been built, and one field observation and research base is under construction. In the future, the observation network of important ecological function areas in our province will be gradually built. The existing experimental site of Sichuan Academy of Environmental Sciences is about 15m2, including 5m2 analytical testing laboratory and 1m2 data statistics and analysis processing laboratory. In the future, 2m2 scientific research laboratory building and laboratory workshop will be built, which will provide a site guarantee for the normal development and completion of the project. In addition, the analysis and testing laboratory of Sichuan Academy of Environmental Sciences has been equipped with more than 7 sets of analytical equipment such as ion chromatograph, atomic absorption spectrophotometer, atomic fluorescence spectrophotometer, Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer, portable ammonia nitrogen analyzer, portable gas chromatograph, portable TOC analyzer, portable COD tester, dissolved oxygen analyzer, portable heavy metal analyzer, flue gas analyzer and single-component gas analyzer, with a total value of more than 4 million yuan.
After more than 3 years of development, Sichuan Academy of Environmental Sciences has trained a group of top-notch talents in environmental science and technology, with strong technical strength and advanced scientific research methods. It has obtained the first-class certificate of environmental impact assessment of national construction projects, the first-class certificate of engineering consultation in China, the national special engineering design certificate and other qualifications, and is the provincial environmental protection science and technology center and talent center. In recent years, more than 1 scientific and technological achievements have been made, of which more than 5 have won major scientific and technological achievements (or progress) awards at the provincial and ministerial levels, including the first prize and the third prize of the National Environmental Protection Science and Technology Award, the second prize, the third prize and the special prize of the Sichuan Science and Technology Progress Award, and the first prize, the second prize and the third prize of the Sichuan Environmental Protection Science and Technology Award. Obtained 9 invention patents and 6 utility model patents. Published hundreds of papers in core journals at home and abroad. Sichuan Academy of Environmental Protection has been actively and pragmatically carrying out foreign scientific and technological cooperation and exchanges in the field of environmental science since its establishment. It has successively carried out a series of international cooperation and exchanges with Sweden, the United States, Norway, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Israel and other countries in the fields of water environment management, solid waste disposal, odor pollution prevention, sludge treatment, cleaner production, environmental management, etc., and established related environmental protection industries. In addition, it has also cooperated with Sweden, Japan, Germany, the Netherlands and New Zealand in the fields of energy saving and carbon reduction, water pollution compound analysis, eco-industrial parks, ecological planning and construction, and coastal marine ecology. Sichuan Academy of Environmental Sciences will continue to learn from the experience of advanced laboratory management and operation at home and abroad, and constantly integrate relevant resources to make the construction of scientific research platform reach the domestic leading level.
