Can patents, copyrights and other intellectual property rights be donated to charities?

Copyright consists of two parts. Personal rights are part of spiritual rights, which are divided into the right of signature, the right of modification and the right of protecting the integrity of works. The right of publication cannot be transferred, and it can only be inherited by its children. If there is no heir, it shall be exercised by the legatee.

However, some property rights, such as distribution rights, lease rights, exhibition rights, performance rights, projection rights, broadcasting rights, information network dissemination rights, filming rights, editing rights, translation rights, assembly rights, etc., can be donated and transferred regardless of whether they are paid or not. If a gift transfer contract is signed, it may be filed with the copyright administrative department.

The patent right can also be donated or transferred, and it will take effect from the date of registration.
