How does China rank in the 20 17 Global Innovation Index?

The 20 17 Global Innovation Index, jointly edited by Cornell University, INSEAD International Business School (INSEAD) and the World Intellectual Property Organization, was released on May 5th. China ranked 25th last year, rising three places this year, ranking 22nd in the world.

This ranking shows that Switzerland continues to occupy the first place in the "Global Innovation Index List", followed by Sweden, the Netherlands, the United States and the United Kingdom.

It is understood that China continues to advance in the overall ranking of global innovation index, and gets high marks in terms of business maturity and knowledge and technology output. This year, China has performed well in the following indicators: the global distribution of R&D companies, the research talents of commercial enterprises, the number of patent applications and other intellectual property-related variables.

The "Global Innovation Index Ranking" is led by the World Intellectual Property Organization and has been published once a year since 2007. The index ranks about 130 economies in the world using dozens of indicators ranging from patent application to education expenditure. Today, this ranking has become an important reference for global enterprises and policy makers.
