plant
The planting basin should be 15-20cm clay basin with good water absorption and air permeability. Mountain mud is mostly used in the south of basin soil, and 4 parts of humus soil, 3 parts of compost soil and 3 parts of sandy soil can also be mixed. Cohesive and alkaline soils are prohibited, nor are calcareous soils.
Small plants change pots every 1-2 years/time, medium plants for 2-3 years, and large plants for 4-5 years, usually after flowering or September-June. When changing pots, cut off long branches or dead branches and replace them with fertile humus soil. In addition, camellia root system is fragile, so care should be taken not to hurt the root system when transplanting. After changing pots in spring, you don't need to fertilize immediately. It is hot in summer and cold in winter. Try not to change pots during hibernation.
Fertilize soil or land
The base fertilizer of camellia is preferably organic fertilizer, such as fermented poultry manure, animal organs, bean cakes, fish bone meal and so on. When applied, it can be dried in the sun, ground into powder, first mixed with 5-6 times of dry soil, and then spread 2-3 cm away from the roots of plants when turning over and filling pots.
Camellia prefers cool fertilizer to hot fertilizer, so when topdressing after spring, alum fertilizer should be poured (stony fertilizer can keep the acidity of the basin soil). The ratio of alum fertilizer to water is: add 1 00g of green alum (ferrous sulfate) to 1 00l of clean water, then add 200g of bean cake powder and1kg of dry chicken manure, soak for1month in hot days, soak for 3-4 months in cold days, and add 65430 when dumping. Usually topdressing 10- 15 days/time.
water
Because the roots of camellia are small and brittle, the requirements for water are strict. Too much or too little watering is not conducive to its growth and development. Too much is easy to rot, too little is easy to wilt, so it is best to keep most of the water in peacetime. From spring to autumn, water can be sprayed on the leaves 1-2 times a day, and the ground around the flowerpot can also be sprayed with water to maintain a humid environment, which is very beneficial to the growth and development of camellia. It is best to use rainwater and pond water for watering. If tap water is used, it needs to be stored in a tank (barrel) for 1-2 days, so that chlorine can be volatilized before use, and 0.2% ferrous sulfate should be added to make it ferrous sulfate water to improve water quality.
Camellia prefers semi-shading to top shading, and side shading is better, so don't put it under a shade shed or indoors with insufficient light all year round, otherwise it will grow poorly. The traditional experience is to master the principle of "wet cold is sunny, dry heat is cloudy". Camellia leaves the warm mouth and is afraid of cold. Generally, it is moved indoors before the cold dew festival and kept in a sunny place. Generally, it can bloom from the end of June to the beginning of February in 5438.
