As of June 223, solid-state batteries are planned to be mass-produced in 226.
at present, solid-state batteries introduced by many enterprises are still in the transitional stage of semi-solid-state batteries, and all-solid-state batteries are not ready for mass production. It is estimated that mass production will not be realized until after 23, and small-scale mass production will be realized at the earliest in 226. Another power battery giant, LG New Energy, plans to achieve mass production of all-solid-state batteries in 226.
BYD, which has the most patents related to solid-state batteries in China, has determined that solid-state batteries are the future development direction as early as 216. According to its patents, it adopts the technology path of oxide electrolyte solid-state batteries. It is said that BYD has made samples of solid-state batteries and passed relevant tests.
Principle of solid-state battery:
The traditional liquid lithium battery is also called "rocking chair battery" by scientists. The two ends of the rocking chair are the positive and negative poles of the battery with electrolyte (liquid) in the middle. Lithium ion, like an excellent athlete, runs back and forth at both ends of the rocking chair. During the movement of lithium ion from the positive electrode to the negative electrode and then to the positive electrode, the charging and discharging process of the battery is completed.
The principle of solid-state battery is the same, except that its electrolyte is solid, and its density and structure allow more charged ions to gather at one end and conduct more current, thus improving the battery capacity. Therefore, with the same amount of electricity, the volume of solid-state batteries will become smaller.
