1. The sensors of the Leica D-Lux series of compact cameras and the Leica C (1/1.7-inch or 4/3-cropped 1.2-inch sensor) are provided by Panasonic;
2. The sensors (half-frame sensors) of Leica's mirrorless T series and portable X series are provided by the Belgian company CMOSIS;
3. Leica full-frame Q and M series, and medium-format S series Sensors are also provided by the Belgian New Vision (CMOSIS) company;
4. Leica has never purchased or used sensors developed by Sony. All cameras manufactured by Leica use sensors provided by New Vision, and only Panasonic OEMs models use Panasonic sensors;
5. The main customers of Sony sensors are Nikon, Ricoh Pentax, Olympus, Kodak and Xiaomi. Some Canon models also use Sony sensors (G7X, G7XM2) ;
6. In addition, Sony, Fuji, Samsung and Panasonic all use their own sensors; Nikon flagships (and a very few non-flagships) use sensors designed by themselves (manufactured by Renesas or Sony, while Nikon does not own semiconductor factory), a few models (such as D5200) use Toshiba sensors, mirrorless models use American Aptina sensors, and others use Sony sensors; Canon uses its own sensors except for G7X and G7XM2; Ricoh and Pentax basically use Sony sensors. But the Pentax medium format 645 series uses new vision sensors; Olympus uses Panasonic and Sony sensors respectively; Sigma only uses Kodak technology and Sigma's patented X3 sensor; Germany's Rollei cameras use their own sensors, and Hasselblad uses Sensors from Canadian company Dalsa; domestic Xiaomi uses Sony sensors, and Seagull uses Panasonic sensors.
