Rickshaw is a two-wheeled passenger vehicle with human traction, formerly known as "Toyo Car", also known as rickshaw, which was produced in about 1870. In Tongzhi 12 (1873), Milla, a Frenchman, saw the convenience of rickshaws and planned to buy them from Japan. He submitted a plan to the French Concession Public Service Bureau, demanding "the establishment of tram passenger service agencies in the two concessions" and applied for a patent operation for ten years.
