Osterhout Haut Design Group (ODG) is expanding the production line of AR/VR glasses for industrial market applications. Following the successful listing of R-7 series glasses, the company is going to launch R-7HL series glasses to increase the product family members, and HL stands for dangerous environment.
This device can not only protect eyes, but also protect users in dangerous environment. Ralph Osterhout, CEO of ODG, said: "ODG developed R-7HL to meet the needs of users working in extreme environments. R-7HL is a durable, hands-free and wearable computing platform, which is suitable for petroleum exploration and production, energy, mining, public utilities, chemical production and pharmacy. It also has a hands-free directory, instructional help tools and manuals, remote assistance and support, and real-time notification and alarm transmission. It improves the personal safety and efficiency of employees, and will further help to change the way the work is completed.
In order to achieve the expected protection level, this equipment driven by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 has a protective shell similar to goggles, with MIL-STD-8 10G military-grade certification, which is resistant to falling, impact, vibration, low pressure and extreme temperature (-40℃ to 75℃), and has passed MIL-STD-8 10G certification details. It also has ANSI Z87. 1 dustproof and splash-proof certification, ensuring that R-7HL glasses have the same protection level as American soldiers or heavy industry workers. According to the manufacturer, R-7HL is very suitable for potentially dangerous working environments, such as oil exploration and production, public utilities, chemical production, airport refueling and pharmaceutical fields.
