An invention patent applicant may voluntarily propose modifications to the description, claims and drawings under the following circumstances: When can the patent application specification, claims and drawings be voluntarily modified (1) The applicant requests When the application undergoes substantive examination; (2) If a substantive examination request is requested at the same time as the application is submitted, within 3 months after receiving the notice of entering the substantive examination procedure from the Chinese Patent Office; (3) PCT international application Within one month after entering the Chinese national phase; B. Applicants for utility model or design patents may voluntarily propose modifications to their utility model or design patent applications within 2 months from the filing date. All modifications shall not go beyond the scope of the description, claims and drawings of the original application.
