Wuhan Institute of Safety and Environmental Protection was founded in 1959. It was a key research institute of the former Ministry of Metallurgical Industry. It had successively accepted the dual leadership of the National Environmental Protection Administration and the Ministry of Labor, and was named: Wuhan Institute of Environmental Protection, Wuhan Safety Engineering Research Institute. In 1999, our institute was officially transformed into a science and technology enterprise, entered the China Steel Industry and Trade Corporation, and was officially named: Wuhan Safety and Environmental Protection Research Institute.
Currently, our hospital has more than 570 employees. The number of professional and technical personnel accounts for more than 75%, including 11 professor-level senior engineers, 135 senior engineers, 167 engineers, and 7 experts enjoying national government subsidies. At the same time, our school has the right to award two master’s degrees: safety engineering and environmental engineering.
Our institute is engaged in the research and development of safety and environmental protection science and technology and technical services and consultation for the whole country, specializing in air pollution control, noise control, water pollution control, solid waste treatment, environmental assessment, automobile exhaust Processing, industrial structure safety, pressure vessel inspection and evaluation, mine ground pressure monitoring and prevention, mechanical and electrical safety, blasting and fire and explosion protection, mine ventilation and dust prevention, safety system engineering, ergonomics, personal protection and information, occupational safety and health wait.
Since the establishment of the institute, it has produced nearly 500 scientific research achievements, of which more than 260 have won National Invention Awards, Science and Technology Progress Awards, and Ministerial and Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards; more than 50 patent authorizations have been obtained, including "No Detonation" The patent for "Pharmaceutical Detonator" has been transferred to the world-famous blasting company - Swedish Nobel Company, and has obtained patent rights in 23 countries and regions. In 1992, a fully automated production line with an annual production capacity of 25 million rounds of explosive-free detonators was built in Sweden. It is known as "High-tech production line of the 21st century".
Since the reform and opening up, the scientific research results of our institute have been continuously transformed into products, winning 10 National Key New Product Awards, 8 Hubei Provincial Key New Product Awards, and the State Environmental Protection Administration’s Best Practical Environmental Protection Technology Mandatory Or more than 20 guiding promotion awards.
Our institute has cooperated with 36 countries and regions including the United States, Canada, Sweden, Australia, Japan, and Hong Kong, as well as some world organizations such as: World Security Organization (WSO), World Health Organization (WHO) ) and the International Labor Organization (ILO) have established business cooperation relationships, and have received more than 500 foreign experts and scholars to give lectures, business negotiations, and technical inspections to the institute; and sent nearly 300 people to visit Sweden, Germany, Australia, Japan, the Netherlands and other countries to work with Conduct academic exchanges, research, training and other activities in the region. The National Science and Technology Commission has conducted a comprehensive evaluation of 5,000 scientific research institutes across the country. Our institute is the only safety and environmental protection research institute ranked among the top 300 in the country, and its comprehensive strength ranks 61st in the comprehensive scientific research and technical services industry. It has been awarded the title of "Advanced Group for Environmental Protection" by the State Environmental Protection Administration, "Advanced Group for Technology Market" by Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Commission, and has been awarded the title of "Civilized Unit" by Wuhan City many times.
Since the reform of the science and technology system, our institute has concentrated its technical advantages and formed safety, environmental protection, blasting engineering design and engineering contracting capabilities. It provides engineering design, engineering consulting services, engineering contracting and product supply in a variety of ways. It provides comprehensive services to society and enterprises, and has undertaken more than 3,000 safety and environmental protection engineering projects, involving a project cost of nearly 8 billion yuan, creating greater economic and social benefits, and the annual contract value exceeds 100 million yuan.
