How to be an excellent graduate student

I graduated from graduate school in June this year. Let me talk about my personal feelings:

First of all, once you study, you won't be arranged by your tutor. The main task is to learn the course well and don't fail in the exam (the exam is simpler than the university, but there will still be a small part of it). In the meantime, you should pay attention to the research direction in the laboratory and ask your brothers what basic professional books you need to read. At the beginning of the semester, you should read the papers sent by the tutor and the laboratory, have an overall concept of the laboratory research field, and then find the research direction you are interested in (in fact, most of the cases are formulated by the tutor, but you may take the initiative if you are more active in one aspect). English must be passed as soon as possible. After passing CET-4 and CET-6, the busier you get.

Secondly, in the second year of graduate school, you will generally start academic research, read more papers (especially master's and doctoral papers), and look at foreign literature when you have no ideas. For the tasks assigned to you by your tutor, you must try your best to complete them as required, try not to procrastinate, and communicate with your brothers and sisters more, because publishing a paper depends on your accumulation in research. As many small papers as possible, it is conducive to applying for scholarships and evaluating excellent masters.

Learn to socialize, drink, talk, be diligent, and don't be afraid of losing money on business trips. Losing money is often a blessing. If you have the opportunity to go out for an internship, you must do it well, especially in the kind of work unit you like.

I don't know what your major is. If you participated in the project during the graduate school, you should take part in it seriously and then sort it out carefully after it is over. Many companies are interested in your practical ability when applying for a job. If the project you participate in suits their appetite, you will be very popular.

Finally, pay attention to the employment situation of each senior, fully analyze the situation, and recognize the social identity of your school and major, so that you will not be blind when you graduate.

I hope it helps you ~
