Robet Hutchings Goddard (father of modern rocket technology, 1882, 10/0/0.5-1945.8/kloc-0.0) is an American professor, engineer, inventor and inventor of liquid rocket.
He launched the world's first liquid rocket on March 1926. Goddard * * * obtained 2 14 patents, of which 83 patents were obtained before his death.
The Goddard Space Flight Center of NASA, founded in 1959, was named after him. Goddard crater on the moon is also named after him.
Extended data:
Robet Hutchings Goddard's research achievements:
He began to study liquid rockets from 1920, and successfully launched the world's first liquid rocket at Ward Farm in Massachusetts in March 16. After 1942, the German V-2 rocket test was successful.
He is the earliest inventor of rocket engine in America and is recognized as the father of modern rocket technology.
1926 On March 6th, in Auburn, Massachusetts, on the snow-covered grassland, Goddard launched the first liquid rocket in human history. The rocket is about 3.4 meters long, weighs 4.6 kilograms when it is launched and weighs 2.6 kilograms in the air. The flight duration is about 2.5 seconds, the maximum altitude is 12.5 meters, and the flight distance is 56 meters. This is a great success, announcing the birth of modern rocket technology.
1930 On February 30th, a new liquid rocket developed by Goddard was successfully launched, with a flying height of 6 10/0m, a flying distance of 300m and a flying speed of 800km/h, which broke the previous rocket flying record.
193 1 year, he adopted the program control system still used by modern rockets for the first time in the rocket launch test.
1932, he was the first to control the flight direction of a rocket with a gas rudder. In the same year, the problem of controlling rocket flight attitude with gyroscope was solved for the first time.
1935, the liquid rocket developed by Goddard has a maximum range of 20km and a speed of1103km per hour, which is the first time that a man-made aircraft has exceeded the speed of sound.
Goddard * * * obtained 2 14 patents, of which 83 patents were obtained before his death.
In fact, the United States is the place where modern rocket technology really started, and Goddard is also recognized as the father of modern rocket technology.
