The value of patent alliance lies in that the unification of all patents may ensure the licensee's freedom of choice and freedom from infringement litigation, or reach a certain standard. Patent alliance should determine the license fee according to the value of all (but not every) licensed patents. "Information products must be priced according to customer value, not production cost". If the Licensor is required to ensure that all patents contained in the patent pool are valid and executable, and provide the details of each patent, and explain the relationship between each licensed patent and licensed products, or even inform the Licensor of the license fee of each patent item by item, then the Licensor must study the validity and value of many patents in detail, and the function of the patent pool will be difficult to realize. In fact, if the patent pool is later found to contain invalid patents, it is only necessary to remove these patents from the patent pool, but the license fee cannot be reduced according to the value of invalid patents, otherwise all patents in the pool must be re-evaluated, which will also make the purpose and function of the patent pool lose.
