What is the working principle of Si-Drive?

SI-Drive is a round button behind the center console lever, which has three gears: I(Intelligence) intelligent mode, S(Sport) sports mode and S # (sport sharp) super sports mode. Many cars' automatic gearboxes also have modes such as "normal", "economy", "sports" and "snow" for users to choose according to different interior environments, but the control range of these three modes set by Subaru is much larger. I intelligent mode is a mode designed for economy and fuel saving. Its biggest feature is that it weakens the power output of the engine by about 20%. According to the manufacturer, the power output of this 3.0 engine becomes equivalent to 2.0 in I mode. This is in exchange for excellent fuel-saving performance. In this mode, the throttle response is moderate, the speed is slow, and the gearbox will not downshift easily. Although the highest speed can be used, the power output at the limit is not as strong as 3.0. Using this mode to drive in urban road conditions, you can get very low fuel consumption (for a 3.0-liter car), and because of the soft power output, novice drivers are also very safe.

S sport mode is the default mode after every start of the car, that is, the "normal" mode. It allows the 3.0 engine to output all power, but the output characteristics of the engine, gearbox program and throttle response will take into account the requirements of easy driving, power and fuel economy. It can be said that it is the most comprehensive Legacy 3.0, which is suitable for daily driving and has a relatively high speed.

The last mode is the exciting S # "Super Sports" mode.
