Is there an annual fee for patent application?

Patent application is a one-time application payment, and there is no annual fee. The protection period of invention patent is 20 years, and that of utility model and design is 10 year. After a successful patent application, the patent protection period starts from the date of application, and the renewal fee is paid annually, which is collectively referred to as the annual patent fee.
