A brief history of the development of engineering general contracting

1956, American H.F.SHOYER began the experiment of casting with polystyrene foam, which was successful and aroused great interest. 1958 was published in the form of patent, which was then called "cavity-less casting". At first, this method was only used to make artistic castings such as metal statues. After many times of practice and exploration, it was not until 1962 that West Germany imported patents from the United States that the EPC process was developed and applied to industry.

In 1964, T.R.SMITH of the United States disclosed a patent for producing EPC castings by using binder-free dry sand molding. By 1967, the lost foam casting method using ordinary clay sand and self-hardening sand was successful, and it was applied in many countries, producing thousands of tons of castings, but the full mold casting without binder dry sand has not been developed and is still in the exploration stage. Throughout the sixties and seventies, EPC was limited to single piece and small batch production, and the typical products were automobile molds, machine bases, artworks and so on. 1968, German E.KRYZMOWSKI pumped negative pressure into the sand box for casting, and obtained the patent, which is now EPC.

Before 1980s, due to the limitation of patents, the application of adhesive-free dry sand EPC in production was limited. Lack of coordination between foundry and other industrial sectors; Due to improper process, improper molding sand and coating, low quality of model, etc., the appearance and internal quality of full-mold castings are not good enough, which has caused some people to wait, wait and even doubt, making the development of EPC process slow.

After 198 1 year, due to the invalidation of the corresponding patented technology, after several years of efforts, the raw material beads of expanded polystyrene have made great progress, the quality of model combination binder has been improved, high-quality coatings have been successfully developed, and the lost foam casting method has been rapidly developed and quickly applied to production. 1982, the United States unveiled the world's first EPC production line for producing complex aluminum castings for the first time. So far, EPC has been applied to production as a brand-new casting process. From 65438 to 0979, the research group led by Professor Huang Shuzhe, a famous EPC expert and researcher of Changchun Institute of Optics and Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, took the lead in starting the principle test of EPC in China. In the same year, Professor Huang Shuzhe published a paper report on "Research on Basic Characteristics of EPC" at the National Foundry Technology Society, which systematically expounded the characteristics and regularity of this method for the first time in China. 1982, on the basis of a large number of laboratory tests, Professor Huang Shuzhe presided over the construction of the experimental production line of EPC in the factory of Institute of Optics and Mechanics. Professor Huang Shuzhe's "Development and Industrial Application of EPC Technology" won the second prize of China Academy of Sciences and the third prize of National Science and Technology Progress with 1997 and 1998 respectively, which is the highest prize among the scientific and technological achievements of China's foundry industry. 1998 was listed as "National Key Popularization Project of Scientific and Technological Achievements in the Ninth Five-Year Plan" by the Ministry of Science and Technology (990 10202A). Professor Huang Shuzhe has presided over dozens of EPC assembly line projects with advanced technology, complete functions, reasonable configuration and high production efficiency.

In the late 1980s, Zhengzhou Institute of Machinery also began the experimental application research of EPC.

Since 1990s, Tsinghua University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Xi Jiaotong University have also joined the research of EPC.

In 20 13, China's first 10,000-ton EPC production line was officially put into production, which marked that China's EPC manufacturing industry officially entered the mass production era.
