It implements a school-running system jointly constructed by Hubei Province and Wuhan City, with Wuhan City as the mainstay. The total value of the school’s teaching and scientific research instruments is 360 million yuan. The library has a total collection of more than 2.21 million paper books, 2,168 Chinese and foreign language journals, more than 2.23 million electronic books, more than 69,000 electronic journals, and 156 Chinese and foreign databases. There are 116 books per student in the school.
The school has 56 scientific research institutions such as the Environmental and Health Research Institute, the Interdisciplinary Research Institute, the Wuhan Institute of Biomedicine, and the Wuhan Research Institute, as well as provincial and ministerial level key laboratories such as the Ministry of Education’s Key Laboratory of Optoelectrochemical Materials and Devices.
