Brief introduction of fisheries college of Jimei University

At present, the Fisheries College of Jimei University has two first-class master's degree awarding points in aquaculture and biology, three master's degree awarding points in aquaculture, aquatic biology and fishery resources, one master's degree awarding point in agricultural extension (fishery field)/kloc-0, and four undergraduate majors in aquaculture, animal science, marine fishery science and technology and animal and plant quarantine, among which aquaculture is a national professional construction point and the aquaculture teaching team is a provincial teaching team. Fujian's educational reform project "Establishment and Practice of Experimental Practice Teaching Innovation System for Aquaculture Undergraduate" won the first prize of Fujian Teaching Achievement Award. Since 2002, two professors have been hired and trained as part-time doctoral supervisors of Wuhan Institute of Aquatic Sciences of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Hunan Agricultural University. At present, there is a doctoral program in aquatic science.

The college has a national pioneering chain (base) for Porphyra haitanensis science and technology commissioners, an engineering research center of the Ministry of Education of Eel Modern Fishery Technology (under construction), a key laboratory of the East China Sea Marine Healthy Aquaculture Agriculture Department (under construction), a Porphyra haitanensis germplasm resource bank in Fujian Province, a research and development center of aquatic disease prevention technology in Fujian Province, a key laboratory of aquatic technology and food safety in Fujian Province, an experimental teaching demonstration center of aquatic science and technology in Fujian Province, and a demonstration center of water resources in Fujian Province.

The total value of graduate education innovation base, Xiamen Key Laboratory of Feed Testing and Safety Evaluation, Jimei University Water Environment and Fishery Resources Monitoring Center, Jimei University Aquatic Experiment Field and 16 off-campus undergraduate teaching practice base exceeds 25 million yuan. The college has five disciplines: aquaculture, fishery resources, aquatic biology, animal nutrition and feed science, and prevention and treatment of aquatic diseases. Among them, aquaculture, fishery resources and aquatic biology are three key disciplines in Fujian Province, and animal nutrition and feed science are key disciplines in Jimei University. During the 11th Five-Year Plan period, the College undertook more than 220 scientific research projects at various levels, such as the National 863 Plan, the National Natural Science Foundation and provincial and ministerial level, and published 493 academic papers in various academic journals at home and abroad, of which 1 12 was included by SCI, EI and ISTP. During the 11th Five-Year Plan period, * * * won provincial and municipal science and technology progress awards 15, including 2 provincial science and technology progress awards and 3 provincial science and technology progress awards. Focusing on the purpose of "cultivating students' innovative spirit and improving students' practical ability", the college has continuously promoted the construction of study style. Actively explore and constantly improve the new mechanism of college students' ideological and political education based on the counselor responsibility system, "student tutor" system and counselor assistant system under the new situation, attach great importance to and constantly strengthen college students' party building and ideological and political work, carry out colorful second-class activities, and form an atmosphere and environment for cultivating college students' good humanistic quality and scientific quality. Good results have been achieved in the "Challenge Cup" China College Students' Entrepreneurship Plan Competition, national english contest for college students, college students' "three rural" social practice and other activities.
