TSMC's 4N 5nm process is a further enhanced version of its most advanced 5nm process "N5P", which is expected to be put into mass production in 2023. TSMC said that N4P process is prepared for customers to upgrade the products of the 5nm process platform, which can not only maximize the investment value, but also upgrade the N5 process products faster and more efficiently.
Compared with Samsung's 5nm process, TSMC and Samsung's 5nm process are also very different.
