Grape information in Turpan, Xinjiang

Turpan Grape Turpan is located in a low-lying basin in central Xinjiang, which was called "Huozhou" in ancient times. It is the main grape production base in China, accounting for 52.84% of Xinjiang's total output and one-fifth of the whole country. Because of the high temperature, long sunshine time and large temperature difference between day and night, it is especially suitable for the growth of grapes, so the fruit is rich, and because of the unique geographical location, Turpan has rich groundwater reserves, so the fruit has a high sugar content. At present, there are more than 500 grape varieties, including seedless white grape, red grape, black grape, rose fragrance, white brick and so on. There are only 20 varieties of seedless white grapes, and their sugar content can be as high as 22%-24%. It can be called "World Grape Botanical Garden".

Generally speaking, "Turpan grape" mainly refers to seedless white grapes, which grow vigorously and have many fruits. Because it has no seeds, it is most suitable for drying raisins. The raisins in Turpan are dried in a special way. In Turpan, there is a shady room everywhere, a lattice building made of clods and ventilated on all sides.

Raisins naturally shaded by hot air in the shady room are still green and bright in color, soft in flesh, sweet and sour to eat and good in color and taste. They are the treasures of dried fruits in China, and can be called "the green pearl of China". Turpan has fresh grapes on the market from July to 10, and eats raisins the rest of the time. Raisins, like grapes, are sweet, varied, cheap and fine, and the most classic is seedless white dried raisins.
