Are there any food safety problems abroad?

In fact, since the United States began to produce grain, meat and eggs on a large scale in the 1930s, in order to pursue production efficiency and product profits, a large number of additives harmful to health have been used.

For example, Monsanto uses genetically modified soybeans, corn and even rice seeds to increase production. However, the seeds of genetically modified crops in the next season must all be provided by Monsanto, and farmers are not allowed to keep their own seeds. Otherwise, the company will be sued for infringing the seed patent right. Usually, no farmer can win the case, because the huge prosecution fee and long preparation for prosecution will drag down the peasants who are not rich. Tuscany monopolized the supply of seeds, which also monopolized the food production in the United States. In other words, it is difficult for people to buy non-GM foods in the American food market. Only foods containing genetically modified corn, soybeans and wheat can be passively purchased, such as oil, sugar, biscuits, juice and bread. Even beef, chicken, milk and eggs contain genetically modified ingredients, because cows and chickens are fed with soybean and corn feed.

Even if the FDA recognizes the harm of genetically modified organisms and tries to limit their production, the government's food department will strongly oppose this bill. The law authorizes FDA to close companies that fail to meet food safety standards. But the reality is that Monsanto's huge interests enable it to influence Congress and courts, and these institutions will not let the FDA formulate regulations for non-GM foods; Even if there are relevant regulations, the standard will be reduced to a range that will not seriously endanger health (that is, food that meets the standard is not equal to healthy food).

The addition of preservatives, artificial flavors or other food ingredients that are considered unsafe in China and Europe also exists in the United States. Even clenbuterol, hormones and PPT pesticides are legal and allowed to exist, but their contents are within the standards stipulated by FDA.

Domestic media can disclose and report food safety issues; The American media dare not report at will, and even interviews are not allowed. Because farmers, as raw material suppliers, will sign confidentiality agreements with grain companies and will not risk going to court to provide news materials.

The American media rarely comment publicly on the dangers of fast food. People who have not received food safety education will naturally lack food safety awareness, even if they eat foods containing additives and hormones, they will not know or care. In China, because of the public reports of the media and the popularization of food safety awareness, consumers with economic ability will try their best to choose healthy and natural foods and carefully avoid pesticides, hormones and additives.

In the United States, well-educated people generally choose organic food. Ordinary people choose to buy cheaper meat and dairy products in supermarkets because they don't understand or have insufficient economic ability. What is harmful to people's health is long-term consumption of meat, milk and genetically modified food with excessive hormones. The patients with diabetes, hypertension and obesity in the United States are mostly low-income working class, and they are also the main consumers of fast food.

SB-93 bill

A bill under discussion in California, but it was rejected many times; It requires all food labels to indicate GMOS, TFAT content and cholesterol content. But at present, the California government has not passed the bill of labeling genetically modified organisms.

American food is not completely safe and healthy, but the media dare not report it publicly, so the public lacks knowledge and does not pay attention. In countries that advocate human rights, people's right to know is not reflected in the most basic food safety.
