On August 24th, 216, Qian Yongjian went out by bike alone and never came back. Later, his wife Wendy called the police and found him dead, probably because of another stroke. Qian Yongjian is the nephew of Qian Xuesen, and his grandfather Qian Xuecun and Qian Xuesen's father Qian Junfu are brothers.
Qian Yongjian was born in new york, USA in 1952 and grew up in Livingston, New Jersey. His father, Qian Xuesen, is the cousin of Qian Xuesen, the father of Chinese missiles. He is an excellent aerodynamics expert, holds many aviation technology patents, and used to be an engineer of Boeing Company in the United States. Qian Yongjian has won numerous prizes in his life, including almost all the prizes in life sciences, and he is also the only Chinese "double winner" of the Wolf Prize and the Nobel Prize. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National College of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
