If the viscosity is one order of magnitude different, the energy consumption is about 1~5%. From the perspective of energy saving, when selecting lubricating oil, try to use low viscosity lubricating oil on the premise of ensuring equipment lubrication. If both SAE30 and SAE 40 can meet the lubrication requirements, SAE30 should be selected.
(2) When multi-stage oil and high viscosity index tankers are working, due to the influence of region, season, day and night and load, the temperature difference varies greatly, sometimes by tens of degrees, while the viscosity of lubricating oil changes with temperature, and its fluctuation range is related to the viscosity index of lubricating oil. The viscosity index is high, but it changes little with temperature, and the viscosity index is low, but it changes greatly with temperature. In order to avoid equipment wear and increase energy consumption caused by excessive viscosity change, oil products with high viscosity index should be selected when selecting oil products. High viscosity index lubricating oil is composed of high viscosity index base oil or viscosity index improver added to base oil, commonly known as multi-grade oil; The other is synthetic internal combustion engine oil, such as ester and polyalphaolefin engine oil. The former is moderately priced, while the latter is relatively expensive.
(3) Reducing the viscosity of oil and lubricating oil containing friction moderator is beneficial to saving fuel. In order to avoid the possible wear caused by boundary friction, friction modifiers (also known as friction modifiers and antifriction agents) are usually added to low viscosity oil. This additive can react with metal surface to form a solid adsorption film or a permeable film or react with metal to form a chemical film. The friction coefficient of this film is very small, which can ensure that the equipment boundary will not be scratched and sintered, and the energy saving effect is remarkable, generally 2~5%. At present, there are many brands of antifriction agents on the market, which need to be added to lubricating oil by users themselves. In fact, the actual effect is often lower than the publicity value, so pay attention when buying. At the same time, it should be noted that the selected antifriction agent cannot react with internal combustion engine oil, otherwise it cannot be used. China's energy consumption is high, and the energy consumption ratio of output value is 2-3 times higher than that of industrialized countries, which is mainly wasted on friction loss. In particular, the viscosity of lubricating oil used is generally higher than that of foreign countries, that is, it consumes 2 ~ 5% more fuel, and the proportion of oil with high viscosity index and friction moderator is not large, so China has great energy saving potential.
