Intumescent Sealant Construction Instructions

Openings: Clean openings and the surface to be coated with sealant should be cleared of scattered debris, dust, oil stains, frost and wax and keep dry.

Construction of fire protection system:

1. Fill the backing material (such as mineral wool) to the minimum thickness required in accordance with the test report requirements of the relevant standards, and leave sufficient thickness for the application of sealant to obtain adequate fire protection.

2. Application of fireproof sealant: In order to obtain the required fireproof effect, please apply the specified thickness and make sure that the sealant is in contact with the surface of the pipe base material in order to obtain maximum adhesion

3. Smooth the fire sealant: For best results, smooth the surface immediately. Excess cement can be removed with a tool dipped in water before it hardens.

4. Please keep the interface intact for 48 hours after construction to allow it to complete the curing process.

5. If necessary, install identification stickers in a conspicuous position next to the fireproof sealing part as an identification mark for subsequent maintenance.

Notes on certification

When using sealant for fireproofing, please select the corresponding test report according to the relevant test standards, and choose different ones according to different fireproofing efficiencies. Dosage.

Recommendations for use

Synergize with the following backing materials for fireproof sealing:

1. Non-combustible material mineral wool (density gt; 100kg/m3);

2. or fire-resistant foam.
