Belgian patent law defines design as "a new and original design that combines the lines, patterns, shapes, positions or three-dimensional shapes and colors of products."
Belgian designs can be registered and protected at the Intellectual Property Office (BOIP) in Biluho. The Biluhe Intellectual Property Office is supervised by the Biluhe Economic Union Management Committee and is responsible for the design and trademark registration and protection of Belgium, Luxembourg and Belgium. The design approved by BOIP automatically takes effect in these three countries.
