In the Han Dynasty, there was a man named Sun Jing, who was diligent and studious since childhood. He studies late into the night every night. In order to avoid being sleepy, he tied his hair with one end of the rope and tied it to the beam. During the Warring States Period, there was a man named Su Qin who wanted to do something big, so he studied hard. Whenever he studies late into the night, he always takes a nap.
So, when he was taking a nap, he stabbed his thigh with an awl and lifted his spirits. The stories of Sun Jing and Su Qin touched future generations, and people used "hanging the beam and stabbing the stock" to express the spirit of hard study.
2. Dig the wall and steal the light
Kuang Heng, whose real name is Gui Zhi, was born in the East China Sea in the Western Han Dynasty (the name of Han County, now the sea area east of Pixian County in Jiangsu Province and the sea area east of Ziyang County in Lianshan East Province). He was born in a peasant family, and his grandfather and father were farmers for generations. To Kuang Heng, but I like reading. When he was young, his family was poor. He makes a living as an employee during the day and only has time to study at night. But the family is too poor to light candles.
The lights and candles next door are on, but they can't shine. Kuang Heng came up with an idea. He chiseled a hole in the wall next door and "stole" a little light from it to let the light from next door shine in. He is reading with a book in his hand, reflecting the light in front of the hole.
3. Meng Mu moved three times.
Mencius is a descendant of the noble division of Lu, but it has declined since it reached his generation. My father died young and lived with my mother. But Mencius was very naughty when he was a child. In order to get him a good education, Meng Mu also joined the trend of pursuing a good school district.
At first, they lived next to the cemetery. Mencius and his neighbor's children learned to bow down and cry like adults and played a funeral game. Meng Mu frowned when he saw it: "No! I can't let my children live here! " Otherwise, Mencius is likely to become the funeral etiquette in the future.
Mencius' mother took Mencius to live next to the market. When he arrived at the market, Mencius and his neighbor's children began to learn how businessmen do business. Bow to welcome guests, entertain guests, bargain with guests for a while, and behave well! It can only be said that Mencius' imitation ability was really strong when he was a child, perhaps because Meng Mu also realized the particularity of his Xiong Haizi, so they moved their hearts again.
This time, they moved near the school. Mencius began to be orderly and polite, and liked reading. Because this time he imitated a scholar. At this time, Meng Mu finally nodded with satisfaction and said, "This is where my son should live!"
4. Fireflies glow
Che Yin, a native of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, was studious when he was young. He helps adults during the day and studies hard at night. But because the family is poor, they often have no money to buy oil lamps or read books. He was very upset about it. One summer night, Che Yin sat in the yard silently recalling the contents of the book he had read, and suddenly found many fireflies flashing in the air in the yard.
He suddenly felt that if these fireflies were gathered together, wouldn't they be able to read by their light? So he began to catch fireflies, caught more than a dozen, put them in white gauze sewing pockets and hung them on the desk. From then on, he studied hard by fluorescence every day.
divide and rule
Su Dongpo is knowledgeable, and he has a set of "divide-and-conquer" reading methods. He believes that every book you read is enough to understand and digest a problem; Read it again and again, and you can master everything. The content of a book is very rich, but people's energy is limited, so it is impossible to absorb it all at once, and they can only concentrate on one aspect.
For example, if you want to explore the reasons for the rise and fall of dynasties, read it from this angle; To explore historical allusions, read them again from another angle. Although this method is a bit stupid, it can stand the test in all aspects.
