What is the cultivation method of Lentinus edodes?

Mushrooms, also known as winter mushrooms, are crisp, tender and delicious, and are the top grade of edible fungi. Nearly 100 kinds of famous dishes in China are inseparable from mushrooms, especially in China restaurants abroad, which list mushrooms as indispensable accessories.

Mushrooms are rich in nutrition, and the protein content is several times higher than that of ordinary fruits and vegetables. Eating mushrooms regularly can prevent colds and cirrhosis, eliminate blood toxicity, lower cholesterol and prevent rickets in children. In recent years, experts at home and abroad have also found that shiitake mushrooms contain substances that can inhibit the growth of cancer cells and have certain anti-cancer effects, so their value is getting higher and higher.

The life of Lentinus edodes begins with spore germination, and white fluffy hyphae grow and develop into fruiting bodies. When fruiting bodies mature, they can produce spores and reproduce. Under natural conditions, the first generation of Lentinus edodes takes about 8 ~ 12 months, and the artificial cultivation can be shortened to 3 ~ 4 months.

China has cultivated Lentinus edodes for more than 700 years, which is the earliest country in the world. In early cultivation, Quercus acutissima, Quercus acutissima and other trees were sawn into sections on the spot and managed in a decentralized way, and the spores of Lentinus edodes naturally fell off and inoculated, which not only led to low yield, but also caused great loss in deforestation. In recent years, people have isolated pure strains of Lentinus edodes, and then artificially inoculated them, with high success rate and remarkable effect. In addition, a cultivation method instead of mushroom blocks has been created, so that even urban residents can produce mushrooms in places without wood resources.

The method of cultivating mushrooms by replacing blocks is to use agricultural and sideline products such as sawdust, bagasse, corncob and sorghum stalk as raw materials, mix them in a certain proportion, add water, stir them, put them into plastic bags and compact them into blocks instead of wood blocks. Punch inoculation holes in each bag, move the inoculated strains into the mushroom house and cultivate them under certain temperature and humidity conditions. After about 3 months, it gradually developed into a mushroom. One block can harvest about 5 ~ 7 batches, and each block can harvest 1.5 kg of fresh mushrooms on average.
