If there is no problem with the disk, you can choose NTFS format partition, which is fast. FAT32 has been popularized in Windows9X, and NTFS has been popularized since Window2000.
As far as security is concerned, NTFS based on NT architecture is better, and it can support hard disk partition with larger capacity, so it is recommended to everyone. However, in terms of file reading speed, FAT32 has certain particularity, so if you are a gamer, you can consider using this partition format.

File system options pop up when formatting the hard disk, including FAT32, NTFS and exFAT.
1, partition type: NTFS:
NTFS is the most widely used partition type at present. We can set permissions, which have much more functions than Fat32, and are excellent in security, ease of use and stability.
It was popularized after Win 2000, and now it has developed to NTFS's maximum support of 256TB(MBR) and GPT's maximum support of 128EB. At present, most computer hard disks use NTFS, so we suggest that NTFS partition type should be preferred when partitioning! NTFS is not recommended for U disk, which will greatly shorten its service life.
Because NTFS partition type is a patent of Microsoft, it is more or less troublesome for Mac users, and they need the help of third-party software to write NTFS file system. Therefore, if multi-platform users are considered, exFAT format is more recommended.
2. partition type: FAT32.
Generally, USB flash drives are basically in FAT32 format, but their compatibility is better. At present, almost all mainstream systems read and write this format, but its security is not high, it is impossible to set permissions, and the utilization efficiency of disks is relatively low.
The key is to limit the capacity of a single file, the copy size should not exceed 4GB, and the file name length should not exceed 255 characters. Due to the increasing capacity of U disk, FAT32 format is not recommended.
When we copy a file, if the file size exceeds 4GB, the system will prompt "The file is too large" and the copy cannot be completed, as shown in the following figure:
3. Partition type: exFAT.
ExFAT, also called FAT64, has appeared since Windows CE6. It solves the problem that FAT32 does not support large-capacity files above 4G, and directly supports 16EB (currently 256GB), which is applicable to both Windows and Mac.
There is also a very strong cross-platform ability. It is a file system designed by Microsoft for flash memory devices (U disk, memory card), and its compatibility is very good. It is suggested that mobile devices such as USB flash drive should be preferred.
