Huawei launches 6G research?

Huawei was founded on 20 10. The laboratory has extensive cooperation and exchanges with Canadian 13 universities. At present, Huawei Lab has discussed 6G R&D with relevant universities.

Huawei is not the first company to conduct 6G forecasting research. Korean companies are also in a leading position. In June 5438+10, South Korea's LG set up a 6G laboratory. The Korean government expects to formulate the 6G standard from 202 1. The other two countries that have indicated that they will carry out 6G forecasting research are Finland and the United States.

At the beginning of this year, the Finnish government injected 25 million euros into 6Genesis, a 6G research project. Nokia and various research institutions and universities in Finland have conducted cooperative research and are ready to cooperate with South Korea.

The United States has also begun to prepare for 6G. After President Trump announced that he hoped that 5G or even 6G would land in the United States as soon as possible, the Federal Communications Commission decided to open the frequency band from 95 GHz to 3 THz for 6G experiments. Bell Labs is currently looking for partners for pre-research.

Companies from China, South Korea and Finland have great advantages in the research and development of 5G technology, with 5G patents in the forefront. The sooner you enter the research and development of 6G, the more you can play the previous technology accumulation and seize the technical height.

G is still in the stage of theoretical research and development, and the key technologies are still in the conceptual state, so it is difficult to describe its future development form. Poutu, head of Finland's 6Genesis project, said in an interview with the media that if 5G is the era of decentralization of smart phones, then 6G will be the post-smart phone era and completely enter the stage of Internet of Everything. However, the research and development of 6G is also facing new challenges such as materials, manufacturing technology and energy consumption.

Huawei began to study 5G technology in 2009, when China just started issuing 3G licenses. The research rhythm of 6G is basically the same as that of 5G, and its period may exceed 10 years. It is expected to be put into operation after 2030.
