Barium titanate-based PTC materials were prepared by water-based casting method. Pre-baked barium titanate-based PTC powder with an average particle size of 65,438+0.0μ m was prepared by solid-state synthesis. The binder was 65,438+02% PVA solution and B-65,438+0070 emulsion, the dispersant was D-3065,438+09 (Rohm-Hass), and the plasticizer was used separately. The relationship between dispersant dosage and viscosity, the relationship between slurry solid content and viscosity, the rheological behavior of slurry with different binders and the thermogravimetric characteristics of different binders were mainly discussed. The results show that the solid content, viscosity and electrical properties of PAA emulsion binder are better than PVA binder, and it is more suitable for BaTiO3 water-based casting. When the dosage of dispersant is 0.50% of the powder mass fraction, the viscosity of the slurry with solid content is as high as 86.0%.

1 Introduction Tape casting is an ancient process forming method, which was first used in papermaking, plastics and coatings industries. Because it was put forward by GennN. Howatt, which has been applied in the field of ceramic molding, has obtained a patent of 1952. At present, it has become an important method to prepare large-area ultra-thin ceramic substrates. The prepared ceramic green films are widely used in MLCC capacitors, mixed circuit substrates and microchips.

BaTiO _ 3-based PTC thin films were prepared by water-based casting method, and BaTiO _ 3-based PTC powders were pre-sintered by solid-state synthesis method, with an average particle size of1.0 μ m.. The binder is PVA solution with the concentration of 12% and B- 1070 emulsion, and the dispersant is D-30 19(rohm-hass). The chemical plasticizers used are pure glycerol, small phthalate ester and polyethylene glycol PEG400, the defoamer used is chemical n-octanol and the solvent used is water. The relationship between the dosage of dispersant and viscosity, the relationship between the solid content and viscosity, the rheological properties of pastes with different binders, and the weight loss properties of different binders were discussed. The results showed that PAA emulsion binder was superior to PVA binder in solid content, viscosity and firing electrical properties, and was more suitable for water-based casting of BaTiO33 _ 3. When the mass fraction of powder dispersant was 0.50%, the slurry could obtain high solid content with a viscosity of about 86.0%, only 490.
