According to the genealogy of Wan's surname, genealogy and other historical records, Xie's surname is Ji, with a long history, which can be traced back to the ancestor of the Chinese nation, Xuanyuan Huangdi.
Most of the descendants and clansmen of Xie Liang took the name of their ancestors' feudal city as their surname, and called it Xie Shi, which was called Shaanxi Zongjie in history, that is, authentic Xie Shi.
Liu Yuan 2
Originated from place names, it was named after Juyi's place names from the early Eastern Zhou Dynasty. The solution of the city wall is an integral part of the ancient city wall complex, especially the "solution of the city wall", which is the defensive outer city of the main city wall. The outermost defensive wall of a large city is called the Great Solution, the wall closest to the main body of the city is called the Small Solution, and the main body of the city is called the Palace. During the Spring and Autumn Period, there were several city walls in the southwest of Gyeonggi (now Luoyang, Henan Province) in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, which were mainly used to defend against Yi Rong's invasion and receive envoys from small vassal States. The people living on the land where the city walls were dissolved were mainly soldiers and their families, as well as some businessmen and townspeople. According to the history book "Twenty-two Years of Zuo Gong", it was "dissolved."
Among the descendants of these soldiers and civilians, some later took place names as surnames, called Da Xie's and Shi's, and later many provinces called Xie's. They were born at the same time as Guo, Xiang, Dongmen, Ximen, Nanmen, Beimen, Yuan, Sicheng and other similar surnames, and passed down from generation to generation.
