6. Summary

Although we are in the Department of Chemistry, we are still far away from waterproof coatings in the chemical industry. I chose this topic from my own life experience. During my internship, the school happened to be painting, and my classmates were really intolerable to the smell of the paint. The paint is a waterproof coating for steel. At that time, I wondered if there could be an environmentally friendly coating instead that would not have such an intolerable smell. Later, when I saw this topic when choosing a topic, I chose it without hesitation. After contacting the instructor, Knowing that this topic is not very simple requires good professional knowledge and research spirit. But I can say that I know nothing about this topic, even the simplest components. After studying the chemical retrieval course, I have a good understanding of various aspects of the topic. Through mutual retrieval of large databases, I learned about the relevant knowledge of building waterproof coatings, preparation methods and formulas, and the production locations of some related coatings. I also learned about some relevant research in this area at home and abroad, which aroused my interest in this topic.

, although I am still an outsider, but I believe that interest is the first step to success. In the future, I will make better use of information retrieval as a tool to successfully complete this topic.

But I still feel inadequate in some places. Like many students, it is foreign language retrieval. I am unfamiliar with some English words in this major. This is also an area where I need to improve. I need to be more familiar with related English words and make Chinese and English interoperable.

7. Suggestions< /p>

I have benefited greatly from studying the literature retrieval course. I no longer let the school’s data resource library be wasted. I know how to find some professional documents I need, which will be helpful for my graduation thesis and beyond. The research on the topic has a very big effect. And Teacher Yang’s courseware is even more impressive, making it much easier to learn.

But in teaching, it may vary from person to person, and there are still some Things need to be improved. Sometimes the classroom atmosphere is still dull. We should create a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere that is conducive to all students participating in teaching, especially senior students. The teacher should properly complete the literature with the students while giving lectures. For retrieval, use more examples and less theoretical knowledge. Literature retrieval is a very practical course, allowing students to do more hands-on work and less theoretical knowledge.

However, in this course I learned a lot, which is inseparable from Teacher Yang’s hard work.
