Abstract: The invention belongs to the technical field of chemical synthesis, and particularly relates to a chemical synthesis method of 3- methylquinoxaline -2- carboxylic acid. Using 2-[(N-2- hydroxyethyl) carbamoyl ]-3- methylquinoxaline-1, 4- dioxide (olaquindox) as raw material, it was reduced by reducing agent potassium iodide or sodium dithionite, the product was hydrolyzed by alkali, and then the PH was adjusted by acid to obtain the target product 3- methylquinoxaline -2- carboxylic acid. The synthesis method of the invention has the advantages of few reaction steps, cheap and easily available raw materials, high yield, simple operation, mild reaction conditions and the like.
