The technical application of self-leveling is first of all an innovation. The floor material in the liquid state automatically flows after being spread on the ground. Of course, this flow is not arbitrary. The liquid automatically finds low spots on the ground. area and fill it up. Finally, after the entire ground flows into a mirror-like flatness, it rests, condenses and solidifies. The entire process does not rely on manual scraping. This flowing process is the best verification of a true self-leveling floor material.
1. Requirements for the basic floor:
The basic cement floor must be clean, dry and flat. The details are as follows:
There should be no empty shell between the cement mortar and the ground
There should be no sand on the cement mortar surface, and the mortar surface should be kept clean
The cement surface must be flat and two requirements are required. The height difference within a meter range is less than 4mm.
The ground must be dry, and the moisture content should not exceed 17 degrees when measured with a special testing instrument.
The cement strength of the base layer shall not be less than 10Mpa.
2. Preparation before construction:
Before the construction of Meilijia self-leveling cement, the basic floor must be polished with a grinder to remove impurities, floating dust and sand on the ground. Smooth out parts of the ground that are more elevated. After sanding, sweep away the dust and vacuum it clean.
After cleaning the ground, it must be treated with a surface treatment agent before applying self-leveling cement. Dilute the treatment agent according to the manufacturer's requirements. Use a non-shedding wool roller to apply the ground treatment agent first horizontally and then vertically. Apply evenly to the ground. Make sure to apply it evenly without leaving any gaps. After applying the treatment agent, depending on the performance of the products of different manufacturers, wait for a certain period of time before proceeding with the construction of the self-leveling cement above.
Cement surface treatment agents can increase the bonding force between self-leveling cement and the ground and prevent shelling and cracking of self-leveling cement.
It is recommended to apply the floor treatment agent twice.
3. Construction environment
The working area is allowed to be slightly ventilated, but the doors and windows should be closed to avoid airflow during and after construction. During construction and within one week after construction, the indoor and ground temperatures should be higher than 10°C. The relative humidity of floor concrete should be less than 95%.
4. Self-leveling construction:
Prepare a large enough bucket, add water in strict accordance with the water-cement ratio of the self-leveling manufacturer, and use an electric mixer to stir the self-leveling thoroughly. Stirring is carried out in two steps, usually the first time is stirred for about 5-7 minutes, with a 2-minute pause in between to allow the reaction to occur, and then stirring for about 3 minutes. Stir thoroughly and there should be no lumps or dry powder. The mixed self-leveling cement must be fluid.
Try to use the mixed self-leveling within half an hour. Pour the self-leveling cement on the ground, use a toothed target to target the self-leveling cement, and target areas of different sizes according to the required thickness. After it is naturally leveled, use a toothed roller to roll it vertically and horizontally to release the gas and prevent foaming. Special attention should be paid to the smoothness of the lap joints of self-leveling cement.
Depending on different temperature, humidity and ventilation conditions, self-leveling cement will take 8-24 hours to completely dry. No further construction can be carried out before it dries.
