How to tell if a scooter is EFI?

(1) Check whether there are components such as idle control valve, knock sensor, air flow meter or atmospheric pressure sensor in the structural diagram.

(2) Check whether there is a carburetor part. If there is, it is not an EFI motorcycle. EFI motorcycles do not have a carburetor, and the replaced original parts are composed of the throttle body and the fuel injector. Any car has a fuel pump, electronic injection and carburetor. It depends on whether the throttle or carburetor is connected to the intake pipe.

(3) Take the motorcycle frame number to the official website for verification. Many motorcycles have a special "Motorcycle Authenticity Verification" on the official website, and you can enter the frame number for verification.

(4) Start-up detection method: There is a self-test function when the EFI vehicle is started. Open the key door (without ignition), the tachometer and stopwatch will react, the pointer type will move, and the LCD type will will change the value. You can listen to whether there are electrical working sounds and whether there is the sound of oil pumping during the self-test of the EFI motorcycle. If there is an engine self-check and the sound of the oil pump is heard, you can basically conclude that it is an EFI motorcycle.

(5) Fuel supply detection method: EFI generally supplies fuel automatically. Open the fuel tank cap, open the key door (without ignition), and listen to the fuel tank port immediately. If there is a sound of fuel suction, it means EFI.

(6) EFI device identification method: EFI motorcycles will have parts such as ECU, oxygen sensor, MAP sensing line, etc., which are not available for non-EFI motorcycles. Many of these parts can be seen from the surface, because most of the motorcycle's engine, frame and other parts are exposed, making it easy to observe the electronic injection device. You can check whether there is an oxygen sensor on the exhaust pipe.

(7) Injection system detection method: Compared with the traditional carburetor supply system, the electronic gasoline injection system replaces the carburetor with a fuel injection device.

Multi-parameter control of the system through microelectronic technology can increase the power of the engine. Under the same fuel consumption, the torque can be increased; the acceleration time can be reduced; the fuel consumption can be reduced; and the exhaust emissions can be reduced. , the system adopts closed-loop control and is equipped with a three-way catalytic converter, which reduces emissions.

There are two types of electronic fuel injection systems; single-point gasoline injection system SPl (Single Point Injection) and multi-point gasoline injection system MPl (MuIti. Point Injection).

(8) How to check the throttle injector: Look at the connection part between the engine block and the air filter. There are no carburetor-shaped parts, only a similar throttle body, which is electronically injected. The motorcycle does not have a carburetor, and the replaced original parts are composed of the throttle body and the fuel injector.
