Qualcomm once wanted to give Huawei Snapdragon processors at a "low price". Why did Huawei refuse?

Currently, most Android smartphone manufacturers use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors; Qualcomm currently has a high position in the smartphone industry, and smartphone brands basically have to develop It relies on Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor.

Huawei’s mobile phone brand is one of the few mobile phone brands that uses its own processors on a large scale; although Samsung also has its own Orion processor, only a small number of Samsung mobile phones are equipped with Orion processors. Some machines also have Qualcomm Snapdragon processors.

So why doesn’t Huawei use American Qualcomm processors? In fact, when Huawei first started developing HiSilicon chips, Qualcomm told Huawei that if Huawei used Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, Huawei would get these processors at a lower price than other mobile phone manufacturers.

However, Huawei did not agree with Qualcomm’s approach, but insisted on making its own processors; it is also worth mentioning that Huawei has always been aiming for high-end products in the research and development of its own processors. In fact, it has been proved that this kind of research and development starting from the high end is correct.

Until the Kirin 950, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor had problems due to power consumption control. As a comparison, the Kirin 950 processor became the focus of many consumers; the subsequent Kirin 960 processor , Kirin 970 processor is already a product that can compete with Qualcomm processors of the same period, and Huawei mobile phone processors have entered a new era.
