What tools should I buy to start sketching? Want to teach yourself how to practice the basics?

1. Sketch paper: You need to buy octo sketch paper or quarto sketch paper when you are just learning sketch (this depends on the teacher's requirements). It's better to be hard, not too thin, so it's easy to blur when using the eraser. Fine and shallow sketch paper is the best choice for painting still life.

2. Pencil: Just buy one from Mali or Kyle. These two brands of pencils are easy to use (personal preference), and you need to buy: B pencils such as HB, 2B and 6B.

3. Eraser: Buy a 4B eraser for drawing. It is soft, not too hard, which will easily damage the paper. If necessary, you need to buy a plastic to make the highlights look better, but it may not be necessary at first.

4. Sketchpad: 4K Sketchpad will do. But now there are many patterns on the market, solid and hollow. But it depends on what you like. The solid sketchpad is heavier and the hollow one is lighter, but I personally suggest buying a solid one, which is more durable. But the price may be more expensive. Preferably basswood.

6. Sketchbook: I wonder if the teacher asked me to buy it. If the teacher asks me to buy it, I can take his advice or ask the teacher to buy it and pay for it.

7. Utility knife: Deli 2056 utility knife. This is cost-effective and durable. If you buy miniature blades and clips, I suggest choosing effective ones.
