In the Southern Song Dynasty, Wang Xiang's "Auspicious Life in the Ground" said: "[Chaozhou] Chaoyang, Yi 'an, Fengcheng, Crocodile Island, Jieyang and Haiyang. "The place names in quotation marks are ancient names or nicknames of Chaozhou, including Fengcheng. Volume 36 of Yu Fang Sheng Lan [A Compendium of Chaozhou Dialect] also said: "County names: Chaoyang, Fengcheng (named after Phoenix Mountain), Jincheng (so the state used to belong to the Jin family) and crocodile Zhu (named after crocodile). "Chaozhou is nicknamed Fengcheng, which is even clearer.
It's difficult to determine the date when Wang Xiangzhi wrote The Jade Emperor Ji Sheng, but the author of Yu Fang Sheng Lan said in the preface that it was written in the middle winter of Ji Hai (three years, 1239) in Jia, Song Lizong. It can be seen that the nickname Fengcheng in Chaozhou is at least earlier than Chaozhou 1365438.
"[Sheng Xing's Yu Fang Sheng Lan] also said ... Phoenix Mountain, in Haiyang County, used to have a residence (according to Hao Yixing's book Er Ya Shi Bird:" The residence is like a phoenix "), hence the name. "Check Cun Wang's Records of Yuanfeng Nine Domains in the Northern Song Dynasty, Volume 9 [Chaozhou Historic Sites], which once listed" The King of Yue took a horse to lie down, meaning Phoenix Mountain in Zhao County in ancient times ... ". Yuanfeng is the year number of Song Shenzong, starting and ending at 1078- 1084. At that time, Phoenix Mountain was regarded as a "historic site", so it was named very early. Since Fengcheng is named after Phoenix Mountain, Chaozhou City in Yuanfeng period can naturally be called Fengcheng. If this inference can be established, the upper limit time of Fengcheng can be pushed forward 155 years. Chaozhou was nicknamed Fengcheng in the Song Dynasty, and we can also cite many circumstantial evidences:
"Yongle Dadian Volume 5345" quoted the Yellow River to supplement "Ling Bo's Letter Fu": "Fengcheng is the best place in the East; Lin Jun, a great man in Fengcheng. " Huang Bu is a scholar in Shaoxing, Song Gaozong. He also wrote a poem "Han Mu" in Chaozhou. He called Chaozhou "the best place in eastern Guangdong" Fengcheng, which is more cordial and conclusive than the accounts of Wang Xiangzhi and Zhu Mu who have never been to Chaozhou.
There is a saying in Yu Fang Sheng Lan Chao Zhou Dialect [46] (that is, Parallel Prose Collection): "Dragon performance is forbidden, bamboo is broken." Yongle Dadian is quoted from Li Gongfu's Return to Chaozhou. According to news reports, Li Gongfu was written by Li Liu, an official of Zhongshu and Library Pavilion. Zhang Chaozhou refers to Zhang Hao who lived in Chaozhou in the first year of Jiading (1208). The two characters quoted above have three allusions: (1) playing the role of a dragon, which means drafting an imperial edict; Jin Ao is a good name for imperial academy (Aoshan is a legendary Xianju). Hanyuan is noble in the Forbidden City. Entering Hanyuan is like getting a fairy. Cutting bamboo is appointed (in ancient times, the official title was granted, and the bamboo symbol was taken as the letter. Cutting was divided into two parts, one for me and the other for the court). Translated into vernacular: Hanyuan officials drafted an imperial edict for the emperor, so you accepted the power of attorney and came to Chaozhou. The title is "Zhang Chaozhou" and the text is "Fengcheng". There is no doubt about the correspondence between them.
"Yongle Grand Ceremony" also quoted Gong's book "On behalf of Chaozhou Rangers, thank you": "Fish wear tiger charms, fragrant and fragrant; Fengcheng faucet, why do you suffer from crocodile creek? " Chaozhou people Lin Shou learned about Lin's military affairs in Chaozhou in the second year of Longxing (1 164), when Gong was appointed as a Guangdong prisoner. Both of them are from Xinghua, Fujian, and Gong Sui wrote a thank-you letter to the Prime Minister for the villagers of the new state officials. The fish-piercing charm in the above dialogue refers to the metal token hung around the waist when officials enter and leave the palace. The original tiger shape was changed to fish shape by Tang Gaozu to avoid the taboo of ancestor Li Hu, and later it became customized. The son of heaven has six bedrooms, and Yan bedroom is the main bedroom for living and listening to politics, because it is different from the main hall of Baiguan, also known as the bedroom hall. The "dragon head" in the second half of the sentence has two meanings: first, it refers to the mountain (Xiao He chose the dragon head mountain to build Weiyang Palace in Han Dynasty); One refers to the number one scholar, and also refers to the "three Ding Jia" of the Jinshi exam (number one scholar, number two scholar, flower detective. Dabao, the wise king of the countryside, ranks second in the second high school under construction. After understanding the canon, the meaning of these two parallel prose is clear: "Your prime minister often goes in and out of the emperor's bedroom, and even Fu Pei at his waist reflects the royal fragrance in the palace;" Fengcheng, under my rule, is outstanding. Where are the crocodiles in the stream? " The title points out "Chaozhou Linshou" and the text is marked "Fengcheng", which is similar to the previous example.
