Nie Jianguo’s research results

A series of innovative results have been achieved in the research and development of new systems and new technologies for steel-concrete composite structures, as well as research and engineering applications on the basic performance of composite structures, design theory and calculation methods, and new reinforcement technologies. The idea of ??generalized composite structures was proposed and put into engineering practice, solving a number of key technical problems in large and complex engineering structures. The developed laminated plate composite beams, composite panels, long-span cross composite beam floors, new composite nodes, etc. are important developments in traditional composite structures. Composite plate composite beams have been successfully used in more than 100 projects such as Beijing Guomao Bridge, Shenzhen Rainbow Bridge, Taiyuan No. 1 Thermal Power Plant Control Building, Binzhou Convention and Exhibition Center, and Guangzhou Hejing Building. Completed a large number of experimental research and analysis of composite structures, expanded its research and application scope, and developed relevant design calculation methods. Among them, the reduced stiffness method is an important development in the theory and method of composite beam design. Many achievements have been adopted by China's current national standards "Steel Structure Design Code" and "Technical Specifications for Steel Structure of High-Rise Civil Buildings". The results played an important role in promoting the development of portfolio structures. He has presided over more than 30 projects including the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, and projects serving engineering construction. Authored 1 monograph and edited 1 textbook. 4 patents have been applied for. As the first and second author, he published 102 academic papers in well-known journals such as "Journal of Structural Engineering-ASCE" and "Chinese Journal of Civil Engineering", and published 35 conference papers.

The reduced stiffness method solves the difficult problem of practical and simplified calculation of stiffness and bearing capacity considering the slip effect in the design of composite beams. It was identified as "reaching the international leading level" by experts organized by the Ministry of Education; prestressed The research results of composite beams were evaluated by experts organized by the Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology as "reaching the international advanced level"; the research results of high-strength steel-concrete composite beams were evaluated by the review experts of the internationally renowned journal "ACI Structural Journal" as "belonging to the forefront of this field" Work".
